Over 100 Women Join Al Mughira Kingfish Fishing ContestPublished

Abu Dhabi, UAE: The Al Mughira Grand Kingfish Championship for Women started on Friday, May 2, 2025. This exciting fishing event is part of the Abu Dhabi Grand Kingfish Championship series 2024 – 2025.

The event is supported by Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler’s Representative in the Al Dhafra Region. It was organized by the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority, Abu Dhabi Sports Council, and Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club.

Women from all around the world are taking part. A total of 105 women anglers from 12 different countries are competing to win big prizes worth up to AED 800,000. The competition is happening in three places: Abu Dhabi, Al Mirfa, and Dalma Island.

The organizers said this event helps keep the UAE’s sea traditions alive. They also said it’s special because it’s just for women to celebrate their important role in society and sports.
