Open Masters Games Abu Dhabi 2026 announces full sports schedule and venues

The Open Masters Games Abu Dhabi 2026 has officially announced its full sports schedule as preparations continue for the major international event.

The games will take place in Abu Dhabi from February 6 to February 15, 2026. The event will last for ten days and will welcome athletes from many countries. The Supreme Organising Committee is hosting the games under the patronage of Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes’ Affairs.

Officials shared the full schedule during a press conference held in Dubai. The announcement marked an important step as the countdown to the games continues.

Dr. Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of Sports, said the event supports the UAE’s vision for healthy living. He explained that sports help people stay active and improve their daily lives. He also said sports bring communities together.

Meanwhile, Talal Al Hashemi from the Abu Dhabi Sports Council said the games will use more than 20 modern sports venues. In addition, the event will include 38 different sports and several age groups. As a result, athletes of all levels can take part. The opening ceremony will take place on February 6 at Zayed Sports City. After that, competitions will be held across Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and Al Dhafra.

Several well-known venues will host events. These include Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi Cricket and Sports Hub, Al Hudayriat Island, ADNEC Centre, Yas Links, Mubadala Arena, and Al Ain Adventure. The Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy will also host women’s events.

The main competitions will run from February 7 to February 14. Sports will include athletics, football, basketball, swimming, cycling, tennis, volleyball, golf, judo, karate, chess, cricket, rugby, sailing, and triathlon. At the same time, traditional sports will remain a key part of the games. The Al-Tabba competition will take place on February 13 and 14 in Al Ain. Camel races will follow on February 14 at Al Wathba Racecourse.

In addition, traditional sailing and heritage diving events will be held in Al Marfa on February 7 and 8. Extra days are planned later in the week if needed. Endurance horse races will also run throughout the games. Falconry competitions will take place from February 13 to 14 at the Abu Dhabi Falconers Club in Al Falah.

Women’s competitions will include athletics, indoor volleyball, basketball, padel, and seven-a-side football. These events will be held at the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy.

Overall, the Open Masters Games Abu Dhabi 2026 is expected to attract global attention. The event will also strengthen Abu Dhabi’s position as a leading destination for international sports and healthy lifestyles.
