ABU DHABI: The National Media Office (NMO) and the UAE Cybersecurity Council have signed a new partnership to help protect the country’s media and digital spaces from growing cyber threats. The agreement will help both sides work together to keep people, institutions, and online systems safe.

The signing took place during the BRIDGE Summit 2025, with Dr. Mohamed Hamad Al Kuwaiti, Head of the UAE Government Cybersecurity Council, and Dr. Jamal Mohammed Al Kaabi, Director-General of the NMO, in attendance.

The main goal of this partnership is to share knowledge and tools that help defend against cyberattacks. The two sides will exchange information about digital threats, make simple awareness messages for the public, and support national programs that focus on online safety. They will also train young national talent so they are ready to face new cyber challenges.

As part of the agreement, both organizations will work together on cyber drills, workshops, conferences, and training sessions. They will also provide support to media teams during cybersecurity incidents to make sure accurate information reaches the public quickly.

Dr. Al Kuwaiti said the partnership supports the UAE’s vision of building a strong digital future where media and technology work side by side to stop cyber risks. He explained that when different institutions unite, the country becomes stronger and more prepared for any digital danger. He added that this cooperation helps build a safe online environment, raises public awareness, and supports the UAE’s plans for secure digital growth.

Dr. Al Kaabi said the agreement is an important step toward creating a powerful digital system that uses both media and cybersecurity to protect the country. He noted that the world is changing fast, and the UAE is committed to keeping digital information safe and trustworthy. He explained that strong protection of the digital world needs teamwork: media helps teach people, while cybersecurity protects important systems. Together, they create a safer digital space for everyone.

Dr. Al Kaabi also highlighted that people play a key role in digital safety. With the right information, individuals can act as the first line of defence instead of becoming targets for cyberattacks. He added that signing the agreement during the BRIDGE Summit shows how closely the future of media and cybersecurity are connected. A secure digital environment is necessary to protect media content and keep public trust high.

The agreement reflects the UAE’s ongoing commitment to improving national digital safety, building local skills, and helping government institutions face cyber threats with better coordination, awareness, and response systems.
