Museum of the Future in Dubai Reaches 5 Million Visitors Since Opening
Dubai: Museum of the Future has welcomed 5 million visitors since it opened on February 22, 2022.
The museum is now celebrating four years of success. Leaders in the UAE say this big number shows how much people from around the world love visiting this special place in Dubai.
Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi, Chairman of the Museum of the Future, said the UAE wants to design the future together with the world. He explained that the future is not something we wait for. Instead, it is something we build today using new ideas, science, and teamwork.
The museum was created based on the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. It brings together smart thinkers, scientists, and experts from many countries to solve problems of tomorrow.
More than just a museum
The Museum of the Future is not only a place to see exhibits. It is also a center for learning and ideas.
In the past four years, the museum has:
- Hosted 620 events, conferences, and talks
- Organized 224 education programs and workshops
- Discussed topics like artificial intelligence, smart cities, health, education, technology, and the future of work
In 2025 alone, the museum welcomed 9 Presidents and 46 Ministers from different countries. This shows it is an important place for global leaders to meet and talk about the future.
Dubai Future Forum and Great Arab Minds
The museum hosts the Dubai Future Forum, known as the world’s largest gathering of futurists. It also runs the Future Talks series, where experts share ideas about science, technology, and humanity.
One special program is the Great Arab Minds initiative. This program honors outstanding Arab scientists and thinkers who help shape the future. So far, 18 Arab leaders have been recognized through this initiative.
New World Preservation Lab
During the World Governments Summit 2026, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum directed that the museum become the permanent home of the World Preservation Lab and BioVault.
This lab, created with Colossal Biosciences, focuses on biotechnology and protecting endangered animals. It teaches visitors how science can help save wildlife and protect the environment.
Iconic building and green design
The Museum of the Future stands 77 meters tall. Its beautiful design includes 1,024 panels and Arabic calligraphy with quotes from Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
The building is also environmentally friendly:
- More than 30% of its energy comes from solar power
- It uses smart cooling systems and energy-saving lights
- In 2023, it received LEED Platinum certification for sustainability
A journey that continues
As the Museum of the Future enters its fifth year, leaders say this is only the beginning. The museum plans to expand its programs and continue connecting people from around the world.
From an idea first discussed at the World Governments Summit in 2015 to a global landmark today, the Museum of the Future has become one of Dubai’s most visited attractions and a symbol of hope, science, and innovation for generations to come.
