Dubai, UAE: Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, officially launched the 8th Dubai International Baja. The event, organized by the Emirates Motorsport Organisation (EMSO) in partnership with Dubai Sports Council, is a key highlight in the UAE’s motorsport calendar.

A World-Class Motorsport Extravaganza

As the UAE’s oldest motorsport event, the Dubai International Baja attracts top talent from across the globe. This year, the event coincides with the nation’s 53rd National Day celebrations, adding to the festive spirit. Running from November 28 to December 1, the rally features a challenging route, starting in the rugged landscapes of Hatta and weaving through the iconic Al Qudra desert dunes.

Record Participation in 2024

The 2024 edition sets a new benchmark with 65 cars and 32 bikes representing 37 countries. With global coverage spanning 190 territories, the event underscores Dubai’s status as a premier destination for high-profile sporting events.

Grand Attendance and Notable Figures

Prominent attendees included Saeed Hareb, Secretary-General of Dubai Sports Council; Mohammed Ahmed ben Sulayem, President of the FIA and record-holder with 15 wins in this rally; and Omar Abdullah Al Futtaim, Vice Chairman and CEO of Al-Futtaim Group.

Season Finale for FIA and FIM Championships

This year’s rally marks the grand finale for both the 2024 FIA World Baja Cup and the 2024 FIM Bajas World Cup. Participants are competing for championship titles across various categories, making it an adrenaline-packed conclusion to the season.

A Legacy of Off-Roading Excellence

Celebrating 45 years of motorsport history, the event began as the Dubai International Rally in 1979 and evolved into its current Baja format in 2017. This change allowed for greater participation, including cars, bikes, buggies, and quads, enhancing the excitement for competitors and fans alike.
