Kingdom Recognizes Excellence in Qur’an Recitation
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will honor the winners of the prestigious 44th King Abdulaziz International Competition for the Memorization, Recitation, and Interpretation of the Qur’an. The award ceremony will take place at the Grand Mosque in Makkah on Wednesday, under the patronage of the deputy governor.
This year’s competition witnessed a record-breaking participation of 174 contestants from 123 countries. The event highlights Saudi Arabia’s deep-rooted reverence for the Holy Qur’an and its commitment to preserving Islamic heritage.
Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al Al-Sheikh expressed gratitude to Makkah Governor Prince Khalid Al-Faisal and Deputy Governor Prince Saud bin Mishal bin Abdulaziz for their unwavering support. The competition boasts a significant prize pool of SR4 million ($1,065,996), affirming the Kingdom’s dedication to recognizing and rewarding excellence in Qur’anic recitation.
The event is anticipated to be a momentous occasion, celebrating the achievements of the talented participants and reinforcing Saudi Arabia’s position as a global center for Islamic scholarship and culture.
The competition’s winners will serve as inspiring role models for Muslims worldwide, promoting the values of faith, knowledge, and unity.
