LCGPA honors 27 winners of fourth Local Content Award in Riyadh

Riyadh: The Local Content and Government Procurement Authority, known as LCGPA, honored 27 winners at the fourth Local Content Award in Riyadh.

The event was held under the theme “Applauding Your Impact.” It was sponsored by Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef, who is also Chairman of LCGPA’s Board of Directors.

Senior officials, government leaders, private companies, non-profit groups, and guests from many sectors attended the ceremony.

The award was created to encourage groups and people in Saudi Arabia to support local content. This means buying more local goods, using local services, creating local jobs, and helping money stay inside the Kingdom.

LCGPA said the award helps government bodies, private companies, state-owned firms, non-profit groups, and individuals follow better ways to support the Saudi economy.

During the event, Alkhorayef said local content in government purchasing has grown strongly. It rose from 28 percent in 2018 to more than 51 percent by the end of 2025.

He said this shows that government and private groups are now spending more money inside Saudi Arabia. This helps build a stronger and more stable economy.

Alkhorayef also said LCGPA has used new plans and tools to support local content. Since the Industry Localization and Knowledge Transfer Agreements method started, nearly 80 agreements have been signed by the end of 2025. These agreements are worth more than SAR18 billion.

The number of applicants for the Local Content Award also grew by more than 131 percent compared with the last edition. LCGPA said this shows that more groups now understand the value of local content.
