Korea’s exports went up by 4.3% in June compared to last year. The country sold goods worth $59.8 billion, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy said.
This rise happened because many countries wanted to buy more semiconductors, also called computer chips. Chip sales jumped 11.6% to reach a record high of $14.97 billion last month.
Korea also bought goods from other countries. Imports went up by 3.3% to $50.72 billion. This gave Korea a trade surplus of $9.08 billion. A trade surplus means Korea sold more than it bought.
This is good news for Korea’s economy. More exports mean more jobs and money for people.
