Sharjah Hosts Sixth Edition of Prestigious Jewellery Exhibition

Sharjah, January 29, 2025 – The sixth edition of the Jewels of Emirates Show (JES) officially opened today at Expo Centre Sharjah, bringing together over 160 exhibitors and 500 top jewellery brands from around the world.

Sheikh Khaled bin Abdullah bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of Sharjah Ports, Customs, and Free Zone Authority, inaugurated the event, which is supported by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI). The exhibition features a diverse collection of gold, diamond, silver, gemstone, and luxury watch brands, showcasing the latest trends and designs in the jewellery industry.

A Platform for Emirati Jewellery Designers

One of the key highlights of the show is the “Emirati Goldsmiths” Platform, an initiative by SCCI aimed at supporting young Emirati talents in the jewellery industry. The platform provides Emirati designers with opportunities to showcase their skills, gain industry exposure, and connect with global brands.

Additionally, this year’s exhibition marks the launch of the “Sharjah Pearls” Exhibition, organized under the “Emirati Goldsmiths” Platform in partnership with Suwaidi Pearls. This special showcase features some of the rarest and most exquisite natural pearls, including unique gold and silver pearls with exceptional clarity and brilliance.

Speaking at the event, Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of SCCI and Expo Centre Sharjah, emphasized the importance of supporting Emirati entrepreneurs in the jewellery sector. He highlighted that Sharjah’s gold and jewellery industry is rapidly expanding, driven by growing consumer interest and strong demand for high-quality, unique designs.

Meanwhile, Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, CEO of Expo Centre Sharjah, described the exhibition’s success as a reflection of the UAE’s thriving jewellery market. He noted that buyers today are increasingly drawn to signature collections from reputable designers, further boosting the industry’s growth.

Honoring the UAE’s Pearl Trade Heritage

A special panel discussion titled “The UAE: The Coast of Pearls Through the Ages” will take place during the event. The discussion will explore the UAE’s historical role in the global pearl trade, highlighting how its coasts once supplied premium-quality pearls to international markets.
