‘Jernin 99’ Wins Second Round of Dubai 60ft Dhow Race

Dubai: The dhow named Jernin 99 has won the second round of the 60-foot Dubai Traditional Dhow Sailing Race. The boat is owned by Ali Abdullah Al Marzouqi and sailed by captain Isa Sultan Al Marzouqi.
The race was held on Saturday and was organised by the Dubai International Marine Club (DIMC). A total of 64 dhows took part in the exciting competition.
The 60ft Dhow Sailing Race is one of the biggest and most important races in Dubai’s sailing calendar. Many skilled sailors join every year to keep the old tradition of dhow sailing alive. These wooden sailing boats have been part of UAE history for a very long time.
This race is more than just a sport it is a celebration of the strong bond between the UAE people and the sea, showing how the past and present come together in a beautiful way.
