Jeddah Book Fair Hosts Workshop on Sports Translation and Fast News Coverage

Saudi Arabia: The Jeddah Book Fair 2025 organized a special workshop about sports translation and how to cover sports events quickly and correctly. The event was held by the Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission and attracted people interested in translation and sports media.
During the workshop, speakers explained that sports translation is one of the fastest and most active types of translation. This is because sports events happen live, and things can change in just a few seconds. Translators must work quickly while making sure all information is accurate.

The session discussed different areas of sports translation. These included live match coverage, press conferences, interviews after games, and sports analysis. Each type needs special skills and tools.
The workshop is part of the Jeddah Book Fair’s goal to offer useful learning programs and keep up with changes in sports media. It also aims to help translators and young professionals improve their skills in this important and growing field.
