Italy’s Salerno School of Medicine Honors Abdulla Al Hamed with Doctorate in Humanities

Italy’s Salerno School of Medicine, one of the oldest medical universities in Europe, has awarded Abdulla bin Mohammed bin Butti Al Hamed, Chairman of the National Media Office (NMO) and UAE Media Council, two honorary doctorate degrees in Humanities and Cooperation between Peoples. In addition, he was granted membership in the Supreme College of the university.

A Tribute to Cultural and Humanitarian Efforts

This prestigious award highlights Al Hamed’s contributions to cultural dialogue, humanitarian initiatives, and global cooperation. His efforts have played a key role in strengthening relationships between nations and promoting mutual understanding.

The honorary degrees were presented by Pio Vicinanza, President of the University, during a ceremony at the University of Salerno. The event also marked the signing of a cultural and scientific cooperation agreement between the UAE and the University of Salerno. Several academics and faculty members attended the occasion, emphasizing its significance.

Al Hamed Expresses Gratitude

During his speech, Al Hamed dedicated this recognition to the UAE’s leadership, led by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. He acknowledged their continuous support, stating:

“This honor is the result of our leadership’s commitment to empowering citizens. They have provided us with the tools to overcome challenges and achieve innovation.”

He also emphasized the UAE’s role in global cooperation and knowledge-sharing:

“Humanitarian work knows no borders. In today’s world, international collaboration is not an option but a necessity.”

The UAE’s Vision for Knowledge and Progress

Al Hamed highlighted the UAE’s deep-rooted commitment to education, scientific research, and intellectual development. He stressed that investing in knowledge is the key to shaping the future.

“Under the leadership of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, the UAE continues to support efforts that drive progress. We believe that empowering individuals through education is the most valuable investment.”

Salerno University Acknowledges the UAE’s Role

Dr. Pio Vicinanza praised Al Hamed’s contributions to humanitarian work and cultural exchange. He noted that this honor reflects more than just personal achievement:

“This award recognizes the UAE’s leadership in humanitarian efforts and its commitment to fostering global cooperation.”

Additionally, Dr. Abdullah Rawah, Vice Rector at L.U. de S University, Lugano, Switzerland, and a consultant cardiac surgeon in the UK, emphasized the UAE’s humanitarian approach. He remarked:

“The UAE serves as a global model for generosity and international collaboration. Its leadership has made giving and cooperation fundamental values in its policies.”

Strengthening UAE-Italy Academic Ties

The ceremony concluded with the signing of a cooperation agreement between the UAE and the University of Salerno. This agreement aims to:
