Riyadh: The Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) has successfully completed a specialized training program called “Intervention in Hazardous Material Incidents.” The event, held in Riyadh, was attended by IMCTC Secretary-General Maj. Gen. Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Moghedi and Civil Defense Acting Director General Major General Dr. Hammoud bin Suleiman Al-Faraj.
The program was hosted at the Civil Defense Institute in collaboration with the General Directorate of Civil Defense and was funded by the Saudi government. Participants from 17 member countries took part in this initiative, aimed at promoting international cooperation and strengthening collective preparedness.
Key Objectives of the Training
The training focused on providing participants with both theoretical knowledge and hands-on skills to effectively respond to hazardous material incidents. These incidents could include:
- Nuclear and radiological emergencies
- Chemical and industrial accidents
- Biological risks
Participants learned about preventive safety measures, intervention techniques, and on-site response strategies to manage emergencies and minimize risks.
This program is part of IMCTC’s broader efforts to enhance member states’ capabilities in dealing with complex emergencies, ensuring higher safety standards and swift responses in times of crisis.
By fostering collaboration among its member nations, IMCTC continues to lead initiatives that prepare for and mitigate global risks.
