IAAPA Middle East Trade Summit Kicks Off in Riyadh, Showcasing Entertainment Innovations

Riyadh, February 19, 2025: The IAAPA Middle East Trade Summit 2025 has officially begun at Mohammed Al-Ali Theater in Boulevard Riyadh City. This is the second time Saudi Arabia is hosting the event. Organized in partnership with the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) and Riyadh Season, the summit brings together key industry leaders.
Saudi Arabia’s Expanding Role in Global Entertainment
The event gathered top executives and experts to explore the future of entertainment. Mohannad Al-Abbad, Executive Vice President for Investment and Business Development at the General Entertainment Authority (GEA), emphasized Saudi Arabia’s growing influence in the industry.
He described the summit as a vital platform for sharing ideas, introducing innovations, and attracting investments. He also highlighted that entertainment now plays a crucial role in Saudi Arabia’s economy, aligning with Vision 2030.

Al-Abbad reaffirmed Riyadh Season’s dedication to supporting the summit, stating:
“Riyadh Season is proud to host this event. Our mission is to attract global expertise, inspire creativity, and deliver world-class entertainment. This strengthens Saudi Arabia’s position as a global hub for entertainment and tourism.”
He stressed that collaborating with industry leaders is essential for continued growth and success.
Investment Opportunities in Saudi Arabia’s Entertainment Sector
The first day featured panel discussions on investment opportunities in Saudi Arabia’s entertainment industry. Experts explained how Saudi Vision 2030 and large-scale projects are transforming the Kingdom into a major player in global entertainment.
IAAPA CEO Jakob Wahl praised the Kingdom’s rapid progress in building a thriving entertainment sector. He also expressed enthusiasm about working with Riyadh Season and the GEA to host this global summit.
Showcasing Cutting-Edge Entertainment Technologies
Alongside the summit, an exhibition featuring the latest entertainment technologies was launched. More than 60 local and international companies are participating, presenting state-of-the-art amusement rides, immersive experiences, and digital innovations.
