HONOR Powers Up UAE Market with AI-Driven Smartphone Strategy

Leading smartphone brand HONOR is making a bold move in the United Arab Emirates, aiming to capture a 10% market share by the end of 2024. This ambitious target hinges on HONOR’s commitment to AI-powered innovation, offering exceptional user experiences through cutting-edge technology.

HONOR’s strategy revolves around a comprehensive four-layer AI approach. This framework encompasses connectivity across devices, user interface, on-device AI processing, and cloud-based AI capabilities. The user interface leverages AI to personalize the user experience, anticipating and adapting to daily phone usage habits. On-device AI empowers users even without an internet connection, while cloud AI seamlessly integrates when connected for a truly hybrid experience. HONOR collaborates with industry giants like Qualcomm and Google to develop these functionalities, ensuring smooth and user-friendly operation.

Showcasing AI in Photography

The recently launched HONOR 200 series exemplifies HONOR’s dedication to AI innovation. Developed in collaboration with the renowned French photography studio Harcourt, the HONOR 200 series boasts a triple 50MP studio-level camera system powered by AI. These intelligent features elevate portrait photography, making it effortless to capture stunning images under various lighting conditions. The HONOR 200 Pro caters specifically to younger consumers and esports enthusiasts, even serving as the official smartphone of the Esports World Cup.

HONOR has witnessed remarkable growth in the UAE market, experiencing a 105% year-on-year increase in smartphone sales during the first quarter of 2024, propelling them into the top four brands. Building on this momentum, HONOR anticipates a 30% increase in smartphone sales across the region this year with the introduction of the HONOR 200 series.

Beyond product innovation, HONOR is strategically expanding its retail presence in the UAE. The company plans to launch its first exclusive experience store in Dubai’s Festival City Mall by the end of August, followed by two additional stores by year-end. This network of experience stores will showcase the premium image of the HONOR brand and provide exceptional customer service. Furthermore, HONOR remains committed to strengthening relationships with its existing network of 850 retail partners, including major retailers like JUMBO and Sharaf DG.

AI: The Future of Smartphones

Laurence Li, Country Manager for HONOR in the GCC region, emphasized the significance of AI in the future of smartphones. “All these layers [of AI strategy] make our phones different,” Li stated. HONOR’s dedication to integrating AI features across their devices is evident, with plans to introduce even more AI-powered smart devices in the global market. Li also addressed data privacy concerns, assuring users that HONOR adheres to the highest global data security regulations and incorporates robust security measures. The HONOR 200 series will receive software updates for at least four years, guaranteeing user privacy and device security.

HONOR’s data-driven approach, focus on AI innovation, and commitment to user experience position the brand for a strong showing in the UAE market. By offering AI-powered features and expanding its retail presence, HONOR looks poised to achieve its ambitious 10% market share target by the end of 2024.
