HH Sheikh Hamdan Forms Supervisory Committee to Lead Rashid Villages Project in Dubai
Dubai: Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, has formed a new Supervisory Committee for Rashid Villages. He issued Decision No. (1) of 2026 to set up the committee and organize its work.
The new committee will guide the project and make sure it helps families in need. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum will chair the committee.
The members include:
- The Director General of the Office of the Crown Prince of Dubai, who will serve as Vice Chairman
- The Director General of the Community Development Authority in Dubai
- The CEO of Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives
- The CEO and Managing Director of Dar Al Ber Society
- The Chairman of Al Jalila Medical Education and Research Support Foundation
In addition, the Director of the Office of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum will serve as Secretary of the Committee. The Chairman will also appoint a rapporteur to support the team’s work.
The committee will supervise the Rashid Villages project from start to finish. It will approve plans and new ideas. It will also follow up on progress and make sure all partners work together. Moreover, the committee will review reports and set clear rules for the project. At the same time, it will manage risks and ensure the best use of funds and resources. If challenges appear, the committee will act quickly to solve them.
The Chairman can issue any instructions needed to carry out this decision. The decision takes effect immediately.
Rashid Villages is a charity project that Sheikh Hamdan launched in 2025. The initiative marks ten years since the passing of his late brother, Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
Through Rashid Villages, the team will build model villages for families with limited income. These villages will offer safe homes, schools, healthcare, and social services. As a result, families will have better living conditions and new hope for the future.
