Saudi Arabia Hajj 2024: As the sacred Hajj season unfolds in Saudi Arabia, the arrival of pilgrims has surged, with the Kingdom welcoming more than 530,000 individuals to partake in the annual pilgrimage. Among these pilgrims, the overwhelming majority have chosen air travel as their mode of transportation.

Hajj 2024: Air Dominates, Sea Traversals Minimal

Saudi Arabia’s General Directorate of Passports released arrival figures for this year’s Hajj pilgrimage. Impressively, as of May 26, a total of 532,958 pilgrims have entered the Kingdom. Breaking this down further, the vast majority, comprising 523,729 individuals, have opted for air travel. This high number reflects the convenience and accessibility offered by modern aviation facilities in Saudi Arabia.

Land crossings, on the other hand, have facilitated the arrival of 9,210 pilgrims. Sea arrivals, however, remain notably scarce, with just 19 individuals embarking on their pilgrimage via maritime routes. Despite this, the Kingdom remains steadfast in its commitment to ensuring a seamless entry process for all pilgrims, irrespective of their mode of transportation.
