Dubai: The iconic Dubai Marathon is teaming up with Guinness World Records, offering participants a unique opportunity to break records while running. The marathon, scheduled for January 12, 2025, promises to be even more exciting as runners aim for new achievements in creative and fun ways.

A New Twist to the Dubai Marathon

This partnership opens the door for runners to attempt record-breaking feats across different categories. Participants can choose to run in costumes for a cause, team up with others for group records, or take on challenges in innovative ways.

Some unique record categories include:

  • Fastest Marathon while dribbling a football or basketball.
  • Running blindfolded, in a school uniform, a doctor’s outfit, or even a suit.
  • Completing the race while hula-hooping or carrying an egg and spoon.
  • Special family records like the fastest marathon by a mother-daughter or father-son duo.

Inspiring Communities to Achieve the Extraordinary

Shaddy Gaad, Senior Marketing Manager at Guinness World Records, shared his enthusiasm for this collaboration.
“This partnership reflects our mission to inspire communities through sports and provide them with a chance to make history,” Gaad said.

He added that participants can showcase their accomplishments on Guinness World Records’ official platforms. Registration for record attempts linked to the Dubai Marathon is free, with faster approval processing offered to all participants.

A Fun and Inclusive Initiative

Dubai Marathon Event Director Peter Connerton emphasized that the initiative is open to all runners already registered for the marathon.
“It’s a fun opportunity for participants to add an exciting twist to their marathon journey. However, any record attempts involving fundraising must comply with UAE laws and receive proper approval,” Connerton explained.

This collaboration makes the Dubai Marathon not just a race but an unforgettable event where participants can inspire others and leave their mark on history.
