San Francisco: Google, the big American tech company, has announced a $1 billion AI education plan to help more students and teachers learn about artificial intelligence (AI). The money will be used over the next three years to support colleges and nonprofit groups in the United States.
More than 100 universities are already part of the program. These include big schools like Texas A&M University and the University of North Carolina.
Google will give these schools:
- Money grants
- Free cloud computing
- Free access to a powerful AI tool called Gemini chatbot
These tools will help students learn, research, and practice using AI.
James Manyika, a senior leader at Google, said the company wants to expand the program to all non-profit colleges in the U.S. They are also thinking about bringing the program to other countries in the future.
This announcement comes as other tech companies, like Microsoft, OpenAI, and Anthropic, are also spending billions to help schools around the world use AI in education.
