GCC Secretary-General Launches Gulf Legislation Platform to Strengthen Legal Cooperation

RIYADH: Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi has officially launched the new Gulf Legislation Platform at the GCC General Secretariat headquarters in Riyadh.
The new digital platform aims to improve legal and legislative cooperation among GCC member states. It gives users easy access to unified Gulf laws and national legislation through a single online source.
Speaking during the launch event, Albudaiwi praised the teams that worked on the project. He said the platform was created following a decision made by the Standing Committee of Officials of Legislation Departments in GCC countries during its 19th meeting.
The Gulf Legislation Platform helps government agencies, legal experts, researchers, and anyone interested in laws find information quickly and easily. It offers advanced search tools that make it simple to review both GCC-wide legislation and national laws.
Officials said the platform will support the sharing of legal knowledge and strengthen legislative coordination across GCC countries. It is expected to play an important role in improving legal integration and supporting joint Gulf initiatives.
Currently, the platform contains more than 24,700 legal and legislative documents, making it one of the largest legal information resources in the region.
The system has been designed to be user-friendly and flexible, allowing users to quickly locate the documents and information they need.
The first phase of the project includes the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Sultanate of Oman. GCC officials are continuing work to connect the remaining member states in future phases.
Once fully completed, the platform is expected to provide a comprehensive legal database that supports researchers, specialists, government institutions, and decision-makers across the GCC while helping advance the region’s joint legislative framework.
