GACA Issues Commercial Licenses to Top Global Companies in Riyadh’s Integrated Logistics Zone
The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) has awarded commercial licenses to four leading global companies. These companies, specializing in innovative technology, artificial intelligence (AI), logistics, and e-commerce, will now operate in the Riyadh Integrated Special Logistics Zone.
This announcement came during the Global Logistics Forum 2024, held from October 12 to 14 at the King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD) in Riyadh. GACA President Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Duailej attended the event to formalize these key partnerships.
Key License Awards:
- Technology and AI Partnership: GACA’s Executive Vice President for Economic Policies and Logistics, Awad Al-Sulami, awarded a license to Alat. Partnering with a leading tech and AI firm, Alat will engage in light manufacturing and logistics operations within the zone. This partnership aims to enhance the region’s technological capabilities.
- Bahri Logistics: Bahri Logistics secured a license to provide logistics services for Boeing aircraft spare parts. Bahri Logistics President Soror Basalom accepted the license, which will boost the company’s presence in the Riyadh Integrated Special Logistics Zone.
- Danfoss: The Danish company Danfoss received a license to conduct light manufacturing activities. This new development helps the zone become a hub for advanced manufacturing.
- SHEIN in E-commerce: GACA also granted a license to global e-commerce giant SHEIN for product distribution. This move allows SHEIN to set up a regional distribution hub in Riyadh, expanding its reach in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
These licenses will significantly boost Riyadh’s logistics and manufacturing sectors. Moreover, they align with Saudi Arabia’s vision of transforming the capital into a global logistics hub, attracting top companies and creating growth opportunities.
