EU Chamber of Commerce Launches in Riyadh
The European Chamber of Commerce in Saudi Arabia (ECCKSA) officially commenced its operations in Riyadh, heralding a new era of enhanced economic ties between the European Union and the Kingdom. Initiative Aims to Boost EU-KSA Economic Collaboration.
Inaugurated on Wednesday, the ECCKSA’s opening ceremony drew the attendance of esteemed dignitaries, including Ibrahim Al-Mubarak, assistant minister of investment; Luigi Di Maio, EU special representative for the Gulf; and Christophe Farnaud, the EU ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Oman, and Bahrain.
Strengthening Economic Bonds in EU Chamber of Commerce
The establishment of the ECCKSA underscores the EU’s commitment to fostering closer economic relations with Saudi Arabia, as outlined in the strategic partnership between the EU and the Gulf Cooperation Council announced in May 2022.
Di Maio emphasized the pivotal role of the ECCKSA in bolstering bilateral economic ties. “This initiative will be key in integrating our economies, facilitating joint ventures, and boosting trade and investments,” he stated.
Al-Mubarak echoed these sentiments, highlighting the alignment of ECCKSA’s endeavors with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which aims to diversify the economy and create new business avenues.
Charting a Collaborative Future
A panel discussion titled “ECCKSA: Shaping the Future of EU-KSA Business Collaboration” delved into strategies for deepening economic cooperation. Experts outlined the expected impact of ECCKSA on businesses in both regions.
During the ceremony, ECCKSA’s license was formally presented by the Ministry of Investment in Saudi Arabia, signifying the official commencement of its operations.
Kristijonas Gedvilas, CEO of ECCKSA, emphasized the chamber’s dedication to fostering a vibrant business ecosystem that aligns with the shared vision of economic prosperity.
