Esports Are Growing Fast Around the World and Making Big Money

Riyadh, Arab Times News: Esports, or electronic sports, are becoming super popular all over the world. More and more people are playing video games, watching tournaments, and even making money from it. Esports is now one of the biggest forms of entertainment in the world.
Thanks to faster internet, better gaming devices, and popular livestreaming websites like Twitch and YouTube, people from every country can now join the fun. Big tournaments are watched by millions of fans just like real-life sports such as football and basketball.
A report from the Esports World Cup Foundation says that more than 3.4 billion people play video games worldwide. In 2022, over 530 million people were fans of esports – that’s more than the population of the United States and Europe combined!
In 2023, the global video game industry made more than $184 billion. Esports alone made around $4.3 billion in 2024. Experts believe the gaming market will grow to $205.4 billion by the year 2026.
Esports is also creating new jobs and helping build the future digital world. Countries are now investing more money into building arenas, hosting tournaments, and training new talent.
