EDB injects AED 20 million daily to support UAE businesses

ABU DHABI, April 13, 2026: Emirates Development Bank (EDB) said it is giving around AED 20 million in funding every day to help businesses across the UAE keep running without trouble.

The bank said this step comes at an important time. Global supply chains face delays. Markets also change very fast. These problems can hurt businesses that need cash for materials, wages, and daily work.

EDB said its daily funding helps companies meet urgent cash needs. This support helps factories stay open. It also helps businesses buy raw materials on time. As a result, important goods can keep moving across the UAE.

The bank is supporting key sectors in the country. These include manufacturing, advanced technology, healthcare, renewable energy, and food security.

Ahmed Mohamed Al Naqbi, Chief Executive Officer of Emirates Development Bank, said speed matters when global supply chains slow down.

He said EDB is not only making announcements. The bank is sending working capital directly to businesses that need help now. He added that EDB uses strong risk checks to move funds quickly and safely. This helps large companies and small businesses face challenges and find new chances to grow.

EDB has also made it easier for businesses to get funding. The bank made its liquidity policy more flexible. It also cut some loan approval requirements. In addition, it updated its funding and capital rules. These changes help businesses get support faster.

The bank is also working with local banks and financial technology companies. These partnerships reduce delays. They also help micro, small, and medium-sized businesses get funds more quickly.

Since launching its new strategy in 2021, EDB has supported strong economic growth. The bank said its financing added AED 11.3 billion to the UAE’s non-oil GDP. It also helped support AED 74.6 billion in industrial capital spending.

By injecting AED 20 million into the economy every day, EDB shows that the UAE remains a safe and supportive place for business. The bank’s daily support helps protect the private sector and drive growth across the country.
