Dubai Traffic Flow Gets Boost as RTA Completes Road Improvements
Dubai, UAE: Dubai residents in Al Mankhool can now expect shorter commutes thanks to the Roads and Transport Authority’s (RTA) recently completed traffic improvement project. The initiative targets smoother traffic flow, benefiting an estimated 130,000 people.
Enhancing Traffic Flow in Al Mankhool
The project focuses on three key roads in Al Mankhool: Kuwait Street, 12A Street, and 10C Street. These improvements align with the RTA’s ongoing strategy to upgrade Dubai’s road infrastructure. This not only tackles traffic congestion but also supports the city’s economic growth and accommodates its rising population. Dubai’s reputation as a premier business hub and a city with a high quality of life is further strengthened by these advancements.
Addressing Traffic Bottlenecks
Hussain Al Banna, CEO of the Traffic and Roads Agency at RTA, acknowledged Al Mankhool’s past struggles with traffic congestion. He outlined the specific measures taken: “RTA has made several enhancements, including reducing the right-in and right-out lanes from two to one at the junction of Kuwait Street and 10C Street.” This change, along with incorporating a U-turn on 10C Street, aims to improve traffic safety and reduce accidents.
Improved Traffic Flow and Safety
The project also involves relocating the U-turn on Kuwait Street to create a longer storage lane. “This change will enhance traffic flow and cut down delays by 30 percent at the junction of Kuwait Street and 12A Street,” explained Al Banna. “It will reduce queueing and waiting times for vehicles.” Additionally, removing overlapping traffic movement from 10C Street to 12A Street further enhances safety on Kuwait Street.
Benefits for Residents and Businesses
The overall improvements contribute to smoother traffic flow throughout Al Mankhool and its surrounding areas. This benefits not only the 130,000 residents but also school-goers in the area. Al Mankhool is a critical commercial hub, housing numerous service companies in hospitality, healthcare, and retail sectors. By streamlining traffic flow, the RTA’s project ensures easier movement for residents, businesses, and visitors alike.
