Dubai: Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) reported strong growth in the commercial transport sector last year. Compared to 2023, commercial vehicles increased by 43%, and vehicle rental companies grew by 33%.
In 2024, 867 new rental companies were registered, raising the total to 3,494. The number of rental vehicles also rose to 71,040, up from 49,725. High-end vehicle rentals jumped by 73%, and electric rentals grew by 50%.
RTA CEO Ahmed Mahboob said this growth shows Dubai’s strong economy and business-friendly environment. New services like hourly vehicle rentals, vehicle life extension, and the Commercial Licensing System have helped make it easier for companies to grow. This progress supports the goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33), which aims to place Dubai among the world’s top three economic cities.
