Dubai Schools Show Improvement in Annual KHDA Inspections
Dubai, UAE: The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) recently released the results of its annual school inspections in Dubai. This year, 23 schools achieved the highest rating of ‘Outstanding’, demonstrating significant progress across the emirate’s education sector.
Strong Overall Performance
KHDA inspectors evaluated 209 schools enrolling over 360,000 students. The results indicated positive developments, with 26 schools experiencing improvements in their overall ratings. Only two dubai schools received a ‘Weak’ rating, and none fell into the ‘Very Weak’ category. This highlights a commitment to quality education throughout Dubai’s schools.
The inspection results placed a strong emphasis on student outcomes. An impressive 90% of schools demonstrated improvement in at least one area related to student achievement. This improvement was particularly notable in Arabic language and Islamic education, where a larger percentage of schools achieved ‘Good or higher’ ratings.
Enhancing Inclusion and Wellbeing
Dubai’s schools are also making strides towards providing equitable access to education. The percentage of schools offering ‘Good or higher’ rated provisions for students with disabilities has risen to 76%. Additionally, 83% of schools received a ‘Good or higher’ rating for their student wellbeing programs, underscoring a holistic approach to student development.
Aisha Abdulla Miran, Director General of KHDA, commended schools for their dedication to continuous improvement. She emphasized that these results solidify Dubai’s position as a world-class education destination, aligning with the emirate’s strategic visions for economic and social development.
Looking Ahead: A Commitment to Excellence
The KHDA’s annual inspections provide valuable insights into the quality of education offered in Dubai’s schools. The positive trends observed in the 2024 inspection cycle demonstrate a collective effort by schools, educators, and parents to ensure all students receive a high-quality education that prepares them for future success.
