Dubai Schoolgirl Receives Diana Legacy Award for Empowering Young Women Globally

In a remarkable achievement, a young schoolgirl from Dubai, Netra Venkatesh, has been honored with the prestigious Diana Legacy Award for spearheading a global volunteer initiative aimed at empowering underprivileged young women to unlock their potential.


At the tender age of 14 in 2020, Netra Venkatesh established SpunkGo, an organization dedicated to providing a platform for women from diverse backgrounds to thrive. The initiative focuses on offering free online seminars on life skills, featuring female speakers sharing their knowledge and expertise.
Since its inception, SpunkGo has made a significant impact, reaching out to over 5,000 individuals across more than 20 countries. The organization has also successfully set up volunteer teams in over 20 locations worldwide, further amplifying its reach and impact.


Now 17, Netra shared that her inspiration for launching SpunkGo stemmed from her belief in the innate potential and drive within every individual. She firmly believes that with access to the right resources and opportunities, individuals can create pathways to success for themselves.
