Dubai Press Club discusses future of regional relations after recent tensions
Dubai: Dubai Press Club hosted a new session to discuss the future of regional relations after recent tensions in the region. The event was part of its dialogue series and brought together media leaders, content creators, and people interested in politics and news.
The session carried the title “The Future of Regional Relations following the Iranian Aggression.” Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi joined the event as the main speaker. He serves as Chairman of the Defence Affairs, Interior and Foreign Affairs Committee at the Federal National Council.
Mona Ghanem Al Marri attended the session. She is Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council and President of the Dubai Press Club. Maryam Al Mulla, Director of the Dubai Press Club, also took part.
Dr. Al Nuaimi spoke about the major changes shaping the region. He explained how these changes affect ties between countries. He said fast political shifts now create both challenges and opportunities at the regional and global levels.
He said the recent aggression against the UAE and Gulf countries showed the strength of UAE institutions. He also said strong teamwork helped protect the country and its achievements. According to him, many people around the world were surprised by the high level of coordination between national bodies.
He stressed that the UAE puts people first. He pointed to the way authorities helped stranded travelers at airports during the crisis. He said the country welcomed them, supported them, and cared for them. In his view, that response reflected the UAE’s humanitarian values.
Dr. Al Nuaimi also underlined the importance of the media. He said media plays a role equal to the military, security, and economic sectors in protecting the nation. He described media professionals as the voice of the country. He added that national media dealt with recent challenges in a professional and aware manner.
He said the UAE proved its strength through its defense system. He added that the country will keep moving forward through political and economic progress. He also said the UAE wants to reshape its regional and international relations in line with new realities.
The speaker noted that the UAE is reviewing its national priorities as conditions change. He made clear that the country places its own interests first. He added that the UAE wants real partnerships based on shared interests, not slogans. He said this approach will help build stable and lasting relations.
Dr. Al Nuaimi said the country learned important lessons from recent events. He also referred to the discovery of a terrorist cell linked to the Iranian regime. He said the group had planned to threaten national security. He praised security agencies for dismantling the cell and arresting its members.
Speaking about Iran, he said people should separate the Iranian regime from the Iranian people. He explained that the Iranian people are the main victims. He also said the UAE treats the Iranian community in the country with respect and equal rights. He stressed that the UAE does not politicize their presence.
He warned against false and misleading media stories. He urged people to stay alert and check facts carefully. He also said the UAE remains focused on peace, stability, dialogue, and cooperation.
At the end of the session, Dr. Al Nuaimi praised Dubai Press Club for creating a strong platform for dialogue. He said the club helps support meaningful discussion and strengthens Dubai’s position as a leading regional and global media hub.
