In a groundbreaking initiative, Dubai’s Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) has announced a program to provide scholarships to exceptional Emirati students attending private schools in the city.
Dubai Invests in Bright Minds
This initiative, part of the Dubai Social Agenda 33, aims to enhance collaboration between public and private sectors. To ensure high-quality education for Emirati students, nine private schools in Dubai, in collaboration with the Knowledge Fund, have committed to offering over 400 scholarships to outstanding Emirati students.
Empowering Future Leaders
Aisha Abdulla Miran, Director General of KHDA, emphasized the importance of nurturing future Emirati leaders through sustainable partnerships and quality education. Applications for the 2024-25 academic year will be open from May 20 to June 5, providing Emirati parents with an opportunity to register their children for this prestigious program.
Diverse Educational Opportunities in Dubai
Participating schools offer a range of curricula, including the British, International Baccalaureate, and American curricula, ensuring diverse educational opportunities for gifted students. Abdulla Mohammed Al Awar, CEO of the Knowledge Fund Establishment, highlighted the strategic importance of supporting educational initiatives aligned with Dubai’s vision for excellence in education.
Supported by education operators and independent private schools, the scholarship program aims to provide an ideal environment for students to excel academically. Open to Emirati students in Grade 4 or Year 5 until Grade 10 or Year 11, the program ensures equitable access to quality education for gifted students across Dubai.
Earning the Scholarship
Eligible students must demonstrate academic excellence and pass assessments and interviews conducted by the schools’ evaluation committees. Participating schools will cover 50% of tuition costs, emphasizing the shared commitment of both the public and private sectors to support gifted students.
A dedicated committee will oversee the program to ensure that educational standards meet the high expectations of participating schools. Dubai’s educational initiative reflects its unwavering commitment to nurturing talent and empowering the next generation of leaders.
