Dubai Customs Showcases Digital Innovation to Angolan Delegation

Dubai: Dubai Customs welcomed a high-level delegation from Angola Customs, headed by José Vieira Nuno Lira, Chairman of the General Tax Authority in Angola, accompanied by senior officials. The visit focused on learning from Dubai Customs’ leading experience in digital transformation and innovative projects that enhance customs operations.

Mansoor Al Malik, Executive Director of the Policies and Legislation Division at Dubai Customs, received the delegation along with several department directors. He highlighted Dubai Customs’ commitment to strengthening global cooperation, exchanging expertise, and adopting best practices in customs management. He emphasized that these initiatives not only improve international trade facilitation but also reinforce global supply chains and support economic growth.

During the visit, the Angolan delegation was introduced to several key digital initiatives, including the Smart Risk Engine, which identifies high-risk shipments and speeds up clearance procedures; the Authorised Economic Operator Programme, which supports trusted companies and boosts supply chain efficiency; and the Makzni digital warehouse management platform.

The delegation also toured Dubai Customs’ main control room and Cargo Village, where they reviewed the latest border security systems and advanced cargo handling procedures.At the end of the visit, the Angolan officials praised Dubai Customs’ innovative model in modern customs management and expressed their interest in strengthening technical cooperation and benefiting from Dubai’s expertise in digital transformation and customs innovation.

This exchange underscores Dubai’s position as a global leader in digital customs solutions and its role in advancing smart trade facilitation across international markets.
