Dubai: Twenty famous content creators from around the world have been chosen to lead a new global kindness movement called the 1 Billion Acts of Kindness campaign. The announcement was made in Dubai in the presence of Mohammad Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Secretary General of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, Sunny Varkey, Founder of the Varkey Foundation, and world-famous YouTuber James Stephen Donaldson, known globally as MrBeast.

The campaign was launched by the 1 Billion Followers Summit, the world’s largest event focused on content creators and digital media. The initiative is supported by MBRGI and the Varkey Foundation and aims to turn online influence into real-world good.

The announcement took place during the fourth edition of the 1 Billion Followers Summit 2026. The event was organised by the UAE Government Media Office and hosted by the United Arab Emirates from January 9 onwards at several locations in Dubai, including Emirates Towers, DIFC, and the Museum of the Future. This year’s theme was Content for Good.

More than 15,000 content creators and influencers attended the summit, along with over 500 speakers, 150 CEOs, and global experts from different fields. The 20 selected creators will work closely with MrBeast and his team on community projects that help people and improve lives. The creators come from different countries and cultures, showing that kindness has no borders.

The 1 Billion Acts of Kindness campaign is already making a strong impact. In just three weeks, more than 170,000 acts of kindness were shared, gaining over 100 million views online. These acts include helping the elderly, supporting people of determination, feeding the homeless, planting trees, donating to charities, and teaching useful skills.

Mohammad Al Gergawi said the campaign shows the UAE’s goal of using digital media to create real and positive change. He explained that content creators are role models who can inspire millions to help others and build stronger communities. He added that supporting this campaign is part of MBRGI’s mission to spread goodness and support social development through creative and responsible content.

Sunny Varkey said the movement proves that education and shared efforts can change the world for the better. He noted that bringing creators together to solve real social problems marks a new chapter in digital humanitarian work.

MrBeast said the summit proves that creators are powerful when they work together. He shared that choosing these 20 creators is meant to inspire young people everywhere to take action and make a lasting difference in their communities.

The campaign first began on November 7, 2025, when MrBeast, who has more than 873 million followers across social media and billions of yearly views, challenged creators worldwide to complete one billion acts of kindness. Creators were asked to submit original videos showing real acts of good deeds by December 1, 2025.

The best entries were chosen based on honesty, creativity, strong storytelling, and positive impact on society. With global support and strong participation, the 1 Billion Acts of Kindness campaign is shaping a new future where online content helps make the world a kinder place.
