Riyadh, January 2, 2025 – The Dakar Rally 2025, one of the most challenging and iconic motorsport events in the world, will begin on Friday, January 3, from Bisha in Saudi Arabia. This marks the sixth consecutive year the Kingdom is hosting the prestigious race.
800+ Competitors Gear Up for the Challenge
This year’s rally features more than 800 participants, including some of the best drivers and riders from around the globe. The race, organized by the Saudi Automobile & Motorcycle Federation (SAMF) and overseen by the Ministry of Sport, will run until January 17, 2025.
A Showcase of Saudi Arabia’s Sporting Vision
Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, Minister of Sport and President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, emphasized the importance of hosting the Dakar Rally, highlighting the Kingdom’s ability to successfully organize large-scale international events.
He stated:
“The rally reflects Saudi Arabia’s commitment to enhancing the sports sector, which aligns with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030. We thank the leadership for their continued support and look forward to showcasing the Kingdom’s capabilities and breathtaking landscapes to the world.”

The 2025 edition of the Dakar Rally spans a total distance of 7,737 km, with 5,129 km of special stages. The race will take competitors through some of Saudi Arabia’s most stunning locations, including:
- Bisha
- Al Hanakiyah
- AlUla
- Hail
- Al Dawadmi
- Riyadh
- Haradh
- Shubaytah
The route will challenge participants with diverse terrains, from deserts to rocky landscapes, offering an unforgettable experience.
