Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Camel Festival 2025 Sees Record Female Participation
Riyadh: The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Camel Festival 2025 has witnessed a remarkable 100% increase in female participation compared to last year. Due to the growing interest, the organizing committee has added a second race, featuring 18 Saudi female camel riders.
Growing Popularity of Female Camel Racing
The second edition of the festival kicked off last Monday at the Janadriyah Camel Race Track in Riyadh, organized by the Saudi Camel Federation. The event will conclude next Wednesday, with total prize money exceeding SAR 70 million.
In the first edition of the festival, 15 female riders from 9 countries participated. This year, the number has grown to 30 riders from 12 countries, including:

- Poland
- Algeria
- France
- United Arab Emirates (UAE)
- Oman
- Switzerland
- United Kingdom (UK)
- Yemen
- Germany
Bigger Prizes for Female Riders
With the rise in female participation, prize money has also doubled from SAR 188,000 to SAR 376,000. The first-place female rider will receive SAR 60,000, making this competition more competitive and rewarding for women in the sport.
