A Celebration of Fitness and Community Spirit

Abu Dhabi, February 3, 2025 – The CBUAE Run took place on Hudayriyat Island in Abu Dhabi, attracting more than 7,000 participants from different backgrounds. The event, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, was organized in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Sports Council to promote fitness, well-being, and community engagement.

Diverse Participation and Race Categories

The event welcomed participants of all ages, including CBUAE employees, financial sector professionals, community members, and People of Determination. It featured multiple race distances—1 km, 3 km, 5 km, and 10 km—catering to both professional athletes and casual runners.

A Day of Fun, Fitness, and Community Engagement

The CBUAE Run was more than just a race. It offered interactive sports and recreational activities, encouraging a healthy and active lifestyle. The event highlighted the Central Bank of the UAE’s (CBUAE) commitment to promoting well-being and productivity through fitness.

Honoring the Winners and Key Figures

Governor Khaled Mohamed Balama officially launched the race, alongside key officials, including:

  • Khalil Mohammed Foulathi, Former Chairman of the CBUAE
  • Deputy Governors of the Central Bank
  • Aref Al Awani, Secretary-General of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council
  • Several CEOs of licensed financial institutions

At the end of the event, the top three winners in each category were awarded for their achievements. Governor Balama expressed his appreciation to Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his support and thanked the Abu Dhabi Sports Council for its successful partnership in organizing the event.
