ABU DHABI: The world’s first official Bundesliga football academy has opened in Abu Dhabi after a new partnership between the UAE Pro League and Germany’s top football league, the Bundesliga.
The new academy will help train young football players in the UAE using top international standards. It will give talented players a clear path to improve their skills and grow in the sport.
The academy is based at Sport X in Abu Dhabi, a modern sports center built specially for training and player development. The center includes advanced football facilities and coaching support.
Officials said the academy will use Bundesliga-style training methods. These methods will be adjusted to match the UAE football system. Experts from both sides will work together to make sure the training fits national development plans.
The project started after both leagues signed a cooperation agreement. The goal is to grow football in both countries, share knowledge, and create new chances for teams and players.
The Bundesliga is one of the most successful football leagues in the world in business, marketing, and technical performance. In the 2024–2025 season, the league earned €6.33 billion in revenue the highest in its history. This growth came from global expansion, strong management, and modern broadcast technology.
The partnership will also support young UAE players by creating possible pathways to join Bundesliga clubs in the future. It will also focus on improving fan experiences, digital platforms, sports marketing, and content creation.
Sports leaders say the new Bundesliga Academy in Abu Dhabi is an important step for football development in the region and will help prepare the next generation of players.
