Authorities Warn of Thunderstorms, Hail Across Saudi Arabia Until Sunday

Heavy Rain Expected in Makkah, Baha, Asir, and Jazan Regions

The Saudi Civil Defense has issued a warning about expected thunderstorms across the Kingdom until Sunday, as cooler autumn weather sets in. The authorities are urging citizens to exercise caution during this period, especially in areas prone to flooding.

Authorities advise residents to avoid flood-prone areas, refrain from swimming in open water, and stay informed by following updates on social media channels.

Makkah and Other Regions on Alert

The Makkah region is forecasted to experience heavy rain, which may lead to torrential downpours, hail, and strong winds. In addition, moderate to heavy rain is expected in the Baha, Asir, and Jazan regions. Meanwhile, the Najran and Madinah regions might witness drizzle to moderate rain.

Seasonal Weather Changes

Autumn officially began in Saudi Arabia on September 1st, marking a period typically associated with rapid shifts in weather patterns. The National Center for Meteorology noted that this season usually brings much-needed rain, providing relief from the intense summer heat.

Temperature Fluctuations

While cooler weather is expected, temperatures will remain elevated until mid-month. Significant fluctuations in temperature are also anticipated during this time.

For more weather updates, stay connected with official channels and take necessary precautions during these conditions.
