Arab Parliament Leader Congratulates Shaikha Al Nowais as New UN Tourism Chief

CAIRO: Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Yamahi, the Speaker of the Arab Parliament, congratulated Shaikha Nasser Al Nowais for becoming the new leader of the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO). She will hold this important role from 2026 to 2029.
This is a special achievement because Shaikha Al Nowais is the first woman from this region to lead the UNWTO since it started in 1975. Her success shows that the UAE is strong in tourism and respected worldwide.
In his message today, Al Yamahi praised Shaikha Al Nowais’s accomplishment. He said this success shows how Emirati women are doing great things both in the region and around the world. He thanked the UAE’s wise leader, President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, for supporting women and helping them succeed in all areas.
Al Yamahi also thanked Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, who is called the “Mother of the Nation.” She has worked hard to help women achieve important positions in many fields, helping them reach the highest roles in the world.
Al Yamahi said that Shaikha Al Nowais’s election proves that the UAE is a leader in global tourism. It also makes the UAE proud and shows that Arab women are capable leaders who can hold important positions worldwide.
