Al Nassr Seal Perfect Group Campaign With 5–1 Win Over Al Zawraa

Riyadh: Al Nassr confirmed their dominance in the group stage of the AFC Champions League Two after registering a commanding 5–1 victory over Iraq’s Al Zawraa on Wednesday night at Alawwal Park Stadium.

The Riyadh-based side completed a flawless group campaign with a sixth consecutive win in the sixth and final round of Group D, finishing with the maximum 18 points.

Al Nassr wasted little time asserting control of the match, with Kingsley Coman opening the scoring in the 12th minute. Wesley Teixeira extended the lead seven minutes later, before Abdulilah Al Amri struck in the 29th minute to put the hosts firmly in charge. João Félix added a fourth goal just before halftime, capping a dominant first-half performance.

Al Zawraa briefly reduced the deficit early in the second half through Ibrahim Gbadamosi in the 50th minute. However, any hopes of a comeback were swiftly extinguished when Coman netted his second goal of the night in the 56th minute, restoring Al Nassr’s four-goal advantage.

With the emphatic win, Al Nassr finished top of Group D with 18 points from six matches. Al Zawraa secured second place with nine points, advancing ahead of Istiklol on goal difference.

The result underlines Al Nassr’s strong credentials as one of the tournament’s leading contenders heading into the knockout stages.
