Ajman, UAE: Ajman is working to enhance its economic partnership with Ireland, focusing on key industries such as education, healthcare, tourism, agriculture, information technology, and food. In a recent meeting, Salem Al Suwaidi, Director General of the Ajman Chamber, welcomed Alison Milton, Ireland’s Ambassador to the UAE, to explore opportunities for mutual growth and collaboration.
Building Strong Diplomatic and Economic Bonds
Al Suwaidi emphasized the strong diplomatic ties between the UAE and Ireland, highlighting Ajman’s commitment to fostering international partnerships that drive economic development. The meeting aligns with the Ajman Chamber’s ongoing efforts to boost global cooperation and attract investments that support the emirate’s vision for sustainable growth.
Focus on Education and Healthcare
Ajman’s educational sector was a key topic of discussion. Al Suwaidi outlined the emirate’s advanced educational infrastructure, which aims to nurture human capital and meet future aspirations. He invited Ireland to participate in the 2025 edition of the Ajman International Education and Training Exhibition (AETEX), a major event that showcases opportunities in education and training.
Healthcare advancements in Ajman were also highlighted, with a focus on medical tourism, innovative healthcare services, and the integration of advanced technologies to attract investors.
Ireland’s Commitment to Collaboration
Ambassador Milton praised Ajman’s diverse economic opportunities and expressed Ireland’s eagerness to strengthen ties, particularly in education, healthcare, and agriculture. Ireland also confirmed its interest in participating in AETEX 2025.
Exploring New Opportunities
The meeting concluded with plans to organize joint forums aimed at sharing expertise in small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Both sides discussed collaboration in agriculture, real estate, construction, IT, and the food and beverage industries. Sharing data and statistics to support joint initiatives was identified as a critical step toward advancing these partnerships.

To mark the occasion, Al Suwaidi and Milton exchanged gifts, symbolizing the growing friendship between Ajman and Ireland.
The meeting was attended by senior officials from both sides, including Khalid Al Shamsi, Acting Executive Director of Ajman’s Studies and Investment Development Sector, Aisha Al Nuaimi, Acting Director of the Investment and Business Promotion Department, and John Ford, Deputy Head of Mission at the Irish Embassy.
