Abu Dhabi: The food and beverage (F&B) sector in Abu Dhabi continues to expand strongly, confirming the Emirate’s status as a leading regional center for the food industry. The Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ADCCI) reported that active memberships in the sector rose to 24,594 by the end of September 2025, showing growing investor confidence and a healthy business climate.
In the first half of 2025, new F&B memberships increased by 42.2% compared to the same period last year, with more than 570 new companies joining the Chamber. Most of these are small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), which now make up 98% of all F&B businesses in Abu Dhabi.
The announcement came as ADCCI took part in the Abu Dhabi International Food Exhibition 2025, held at ADNEC from October 21 to 23 as part of Global Food Week. The Chamber’s participation highlights its focus on food security, sustainable supply chains, and support for private-sector growth.
Between 2019 and 2024, the sector recorded an annual growth rate of around 23.8%, reflecting its strong contribution to the UAE’s economic diversification. Al Ain continues to play a key role as an agricultural hub, supporting national food production and distribution.
According to ADCCI, 94% of members operate in commercial activities such as groceries, fresh produce, and confectionery. Cafés, restaurants, beverage outlets, and bakeries lead in the accommodation and food services sector, while baked goods and bottled water dominate manufacturing.
Shamis Ali Al Dhaheri, Second Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of ADCCI, said the F&B sector is a vital pillar of the national economy, helping to ensure food security and drive innovation. He added that ADCCI remains committed to supporting local businesses and building partnerships that attract both regional and global investors.
The Chamber said the rise in F&B memberships reflects trust in Abu Dhabi’s economy and development plans. The sector’s continued growth strengthens Abu Dhabi’s position as a global hub for food industries, innovation, and sustainable agriculture.
