Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi Police have announced a detailed security plan to ensure a safe and smooth New Year’s Eve celebration across the emirate. This initiative, developed in collaboration with strategic partners, focuses on public safety, smooth traffic flow, and minimising congestion.
Key Measures to Enhance Safety
Major General Ahmed Saif Bin Zaitoon Al Muhairi, Director of the Central Operations Sector at Abu Dhabi Police, highlighted that the plan prioritises the safety of tourist areas, shopping centres, and traffic management during the festivities. The aim is to ensure a secure and enjoyable environment for everyone.
Road Safety Advice for Drivers
The Traffic and Patrols Directorate emphasized its commitment to road safety by implementing strict precautions. Drivers are urged to:
- Follow traffic laws and speed limits.
- Avoid using mobile phones while driving.
- Keep a safe distance between vehicles.
- Stay alert and avoid reckless driving.
Warnings Against Unruly Behaviours
Abu Dhabi Police have also cautioned against actions like:
- Using party sprays irresponsibly.
- Engaging in reckless driving.
- Creating excessive noise.
Residents are encouraged to follow these guidelines to maintain a safe and positive atmosphere, reflecting the values of the community and the nation.
Advanced Preparations for Emergencies
The Command and Control Centre of the Central Operations Sector is fully prepared for the New Year celebrations. Brigadier General Nasser Sulaiman Al Maskari, Director of the Operations Department, stated that the operations room is equipped with the latest technology and highly trained personnel to respond to emergencies quickly and effectively.
